Franco Pietoso

Franco Pietoso has been a musician since he was 11 years old. By the time he was 13 his band, "The Villagers" was receiving regional acclaim in Central Jersey for having "The Beatle Look as well as Sound". Franco was offered a recording contract with a major label at the age of 15 when the "blue-eyed soul" band" he was in was discovered by songwriter Eddie Cooley co-writer (with Otis Blackwell) of the hit standard "Fever". Franco went on to do some studio drumming for producer-arranger Teacho Wiltshire (The Drifters, Wilson Pickett, Solomon Burke). As a young teen, Franco spent a lot of time immersing himself in the Greenwich Village music scene and was lucky enough to rub shoulders with the likes of Richie Havens, Phil Ochs and many other 60's village denizens. As an adult, Franco has been lucky enough to have worked with musicians like Crosby, Stills and Nash ( including both the 2000 and 2002 CSNY Tours) working with legendary producer Stephen Barncard ( CSN, Grateful Dead, etc.) in pioneering the concept of "instant" on-the-road photo and news reporting. Franco has been Vice-President of Banner Records, an artist run independent record label, since 2002 and President of Laurel Canyon Records since 2014.

yo’me,GDP, as we traditionally define is, is a ridiculous statistic. Given the structure of the global economy, America’s GDP is meaningless. How can we have such a high “Gross Domestic Product” when we don’t make any products?
